Self-described as "a little community with a lot of rage," you can soak up impassioned vibes and read blistering exposes detailing sexist attitudes in the news, pop culture, and science! A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)

recommendations

can anyone recommend a photoshop course that is worth spending money on? i know the basics down pat, just need to get a refresher on the more advance stuff.

and does anyone have a recommendation for a workshop for studio lighting? i never work in the studio so i haven't got the knowledge right now!

i know camosun has some evening courses that would cover both, but with the photography workshops i took there, i found i didn't learn anything...don't want the same thing to happen with photoshop!

thanks!

Pet medicines

Yesterday I had to take my kitty into the vet for an abscess. They gave me a bottle of amoxicillin for her to take, but it's banana-flavoured, and she doesn't like it.

I understand that there are pharmacies in Victoria that are able to compound medicines for pets that might be able to provide a medicine that tastes better to a cat. (What cat likes bananas?) However, I have no idea what pharmacies do that. Anyone have any suggestions?

Used DVDs and Temp Tattoos

I have two questions today.

First, I have a bunch of DVDs I want to get rid of, and I was wondering if there is a place in the city that would buy these from me? I'm looking for an option other than usedvictoria.com.

And second, I am wondering where I might be able to find and buy temporary tattoos.

Thanks!

Dear Victoria

Does anyone know when the next Big Brother's pick up is in Langford?

Also, is there anywhere that will take a mattress and box spring that are in good condition for free? You know, for donations and such?

thanks.

Wings

I am in need of tasty, meaty, delicious chicken wings. Reasonably-priced as well, but they don't need to be really cheap. Just not stupid prices like 7-11.

So, any suggestions, meat-eaters of Victoria?

Pool Halls

I know there is one on the corner of View and Douglas. Peacock billards I think its called. But I'm looking to try somewhere new. There's a few places I know of that have pool tables but I'm looking for at least 10 tables. Ideas? Needs to be accessable by bus. Thanks.

Group guitar lessons

I'm a beginner guitarist looking for group lessons in Victoria. Can anyone recommend me a good place to look into? I'd like to be around other 20-somethings but I'm sure this type of thing isn't usually categorized into age groups....

Thanks!

Anyone seen these "M-Cups" Russian Doll measuring cup set in town?
The places I've found online either dont ship the $12 cups to canada or are charging $100 for them.

Thanks!

Downtown internet printing

 Hi Victoria,

I need to print off a boarding pass for a flight... but have no printer at home.  Any good ideas where I can in, fire up a browser and print off a page or two, in the downtown area?

Thanks!

Moving sale!

I've got a few things I don't have the room to take with me as I move out of province. I was going to put them on UsedVictoria, but I'll put them here first.

Microwave, TV stand, desk, bed, toaster oven )

busses

This isn't really Victoria related but are there any other bus services BESIDES greyhound that could get me from Vancouver to Ontario?
